Nordic-Baltic Network

Nordic-Baltic Network – is a forum that takes place the day prior to the main METREX Conference and are having additional meetings in-between the conferences if member city-regions agree upon.

Every meeting is aimed at all cities and regions in the Nordic and Baltic areas to meet and discuss the key issues taking place in relation to the conference main theme. Issues range from urban resilience, city-regional governance, connectivity, social cohesion, or living in a future metropolis.

In addition, the Nordic-Baltic Network provides a framework from a practical work content point of view, to highlight in a ’roundtable’ context an update on ‘what is happening’ in each city-region.
An agreed agenda circulates before the meeting to enable the city-regions to prepare presentations and the forum supports informed discussion and provides a wide-range of perspectives on city-region matters.

Currently active members of Nordic-Baltic Network are Gothenburg Region, Stockholm Region, City of Helsinki and Helsinki-Uusimaa Region, City of Riga, City of Oslo and County of Viken, Capital Region Berlin-Brandenburg, Harju County, Skåne Region.

In the second half of 2022, City of Riga took over the management of the Nordic-Baltic Network from Stockholm Region.
