The Nordic-Baltic Space is a METREX Expert Group formed to create a vision and framework that goes towards improving the effectiveness of city-region polices and instruments across the Space and achieve a more integrated set of polycentric city-regions.
To this intent, the Expert Group are undertaking a macro-regional analysis of the Space based upon ESPON’s ET2050 EU Vision.
By understanding the ‘drivers of change’, challenges and strengths and weaknesses, the Nordic-Baltic Space is aiming to create a joint scenario and vision, a joint set of intentions to carry out common spatial strategies, together with a joint set of strategic maps that integrate the outcomes of a Nordic-Baltic transnational development perspective.
In doing so, the Nordic-Baltic city-regions wish to ‘work together’ to improve sustainable regional competitiveness and stronger city-region cooperation.
