Final Academic & Practical Workshop
and Book Launch

University of Szeged
September 11-12th, 2025

On September 11-12th 2025 Final Academic & Practical Workshop ‘Urban Post-COVID Recovery in the V4 Countries: Towards Effective Sectoral Policies?’ and Book Launch was organized at the University of Szeged in Hungary. As part of the project ‘Urban Post-COVID Recovery in the V4 Countries’ implemented between 2022 and 2025 with financial support from the International Visegrad Fund (IVF), the workshop provided an opportunity to present the comprehensive results of the research conducted within the project, as well as to exchange opinions and experiences regarding the responses of municipal self-governments to the challenges of post-pandemic recovery in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary.

The event consisted of three parts: Academic Workshop (with the participation of academics), Round Table Debate (including researchers and practitioners dealing with the issue of post-COVID recovery in V4 countries) as well as Young Practitioners Forum (with the activities of students interested in post-COVID recovery in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary). Therefore, the event was attended not only by representatives of the academic community, but also representatives of local government units, the non-governmental sector and entrepreneurs. It should be emphasized that as a part of the event the book ‘Urban Responses to the Covid-19 Pandemic: Perspectives of the Visegrad Group Countries (Routledge 2025)’ was launched:

Urban Responses to the Covid-19 Pandemic: Perspectives of the Visegrad
